Social Cues

You’ll soon be following them on Instagram, re-tweeting their tweets, and commenting on their Facebook posts, so it’s probably best to get well acquainted with them now. Allow us to introduce you to our social media mavens.

“If anyone had told me I could make a career out of my two passions—fashion and nerding out on the Internet—I'd have thought they were totally crazy,” says Brittany De Fehr. De Fehr—living proof that doing what you love and having a proper job aren’t mutually exclusive—is our go-to for all things social media; she looks after our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. In 2010, Vanity Fair named De Fehr’s Tumblr, Style & Substance, one of their favourite fashion blogs. Already happy to see a Vancouver girl represent, just imagine how stoked we were to find out she worked at our TNA store on Robson Street, Vancouver. So, we brought her in-house to do what she does best. “We have the raddest clothes, staff, and stores around, and my role is to share all of that and more with our customers online,” she says. “Hello, dream job!” CANDY SOO

Susan Williamson, the newest member of our social media team, was a little behind getting online. “We were late to get Internet in my house,” she recalls, “but once we got it I was hooked!” Obsessed with her AIM profile and picking a MySpace song back then, Williamson, who is based in our New York office, now immerses herself in blogging and colour coordinating her Pinterest page. A former contributor at Refinery 29, as well as a social media manager for various fashion brands, including Cynthia Rowley, Williamson loves the creative nature of her work. “Composition is everything to me,” she says. “I come from an art and design background, so cropping images and choosing filters on photo apps and Instagram can take me hours!”CS
