Our Footprint

Behind the scenes, we’re constantly examining our stores, offices, distribution centres and logistics for ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

Energy Efficiency

Aritzia has a store network of over 75 stores in Canada and the U.S., and our energy needs will increase as we continue to grow. As a proactive step, we began switching our traditional halogen bulbs for LED lights in 2015, with plans to continue the rollout across all our stores. To date, 35% of our locations are now fitted with LED, including 15% that were part of the retrofit initiative.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Due to our exacting standards, we occasionally have products that we are unwilling to sell. For a number of years, we've worked with debrand, a Vancouver-based company that helps companies reuse and recycle unwanted products and material. We know we can improve our recycling rate and are working on our internal systems to better our performance.

When products meet the quality standards that we'd expect for our retail stores, we look for donation partners. Last year, we donated over $1 million of product to charities that include Dress for Success and Union Gospel Mission in Vancouver, and GEMS Girls Clubs in New York. For more information on our donations program, see Our Community.
